I stayed a couple of nights at Tilney Vicarage while touring on holiday. Martin and Maddy’s friendly, genuine welcome was outstanding. I booked late at night and by the time I arrived it was dark. They switched the outside light on in advance  so I could find Tilney Vicarage in the lane, though it wasn’t necessary and I located it fine.

The vicarage is a lovely house with character. There is good off-road parking. The room was beautiful,  very comfortable, spotless, with lots of little thoughtful extras such as a sewing kit and a well-stocked tea tray.

Breakfast is delicious. Especially I recommend the scrambled eggs, using fresh eggs from their own chickens, with salmon. Maddy’s delicious home-made jams, and apples with cinnamon are also memorable.

When I had problems with my mobile phone, Martin went to great lengths to help me sort it out too. Thanks!

I will specially remember Maddy’s and Martin’s friendly welcome, the yummy breakfast, the lovely vicarage building, and the peace and quiet of the surrounding fields and woodland. Highly recommended.

We stayed just one night at Tilney Vicarage but we felt so relaxed and pampered there, and the price, incredibly just £30pp B and B!. The hosts Maddy and Martin think of everything, usual tea and coffee in the rooms but also Horlicks and ovaltine as well as hot chocolate. Bottle water, a torch, sewing kits, you name it, l felt totally spoilt and nothing is too much trouble.
l stay away a fair amount with work and l am always looking for the most comfortable places but this was outstanding for comfort and value.
The breakfast is amazing too, l had porridge, fruit salad, then scrambled eggs and salmon but the choice was endless and so delicious.
Martin even dropped us off at the local pub, it’s easily walkable but we were late for last dinner orders.
We both bought some home made jam, lovingly prepared by Maddy at only £1.60 per pot, really is good jam too wish l’d bought more.
You will not be disappointed

Could not have wished for a better place. A v. friendly reception and perfect service in every respect. I mean your own PERSONAL bathroom.

Once again I have met wonderful people on my long distance cycling adventures – I wish you all you wish yourselves. Love and Peace.

A very peaceful and pleasant place to stay. The hosts were very friendly and could not be more amenable. A great breakfast to set you up for the day. Ideally located to reach many varied and interesting places. David
